We are happy to report that our paper on a Selenium pi-acid-catalyzed asymmetric migratory Tsuji–Wacker Oxidation has been accepted at JACS. Very proud of our group members Eduard, Sooyoung, and Jana for this great achievement!
Very warm welcome to our new group member Davide Torz who has joined us for the duration of his master thesis as a visiting scientist from the group of Professor Claudio Santi at the Perugia University. Glad to have you with us!
Congrats to Thomas for submitting his Master thesis!
Very excited to announce that after plenty of dedication and hard work our latest research is now published in Nature Magazine! Our study introduces a novel method for the heterolysis of homopolar and symmetric σ-bonds, and we are proud to see it featured not only in the journal itself, but also on the Nature Podcast and in Nature News and Views, so check it out! A huge congratulations to Anna, Caro, Poorva, and the entire team who contributed to this achievement.
We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our collaborators from the Nürnberger and Rehbein groups. Working together on this project has been a rewarding experience, and we’re excited to see the impact of this work in the field.
Congratulations to Sebastian for successfully defending his PhD last week! Well done, Dr. Graf!
We are excited to announce our latest publication on Intermolecular Aza-Wacker Coupling of Alkenes, now available in ACS Catalysis. Check it out for new insights into Photo-Aerobic Selenium-π-Acid Multicatalysis. Congrats to Tao and Theresa!
Congrats to Poorva for successfully defending her PhD and all the best for you future outside the Breder Workgroup!
We are delighted to welcome Georg to our group for his Master Thesis on sigma bond heterolyses.
Welcome aboard, Georg! We're excited to have you with us.
Congratulations to Jana for successfully finishing her Master Thesis and all the best for your future endeavors!
We are pleased to welcome Markus back to the team after successfully completing his Master’s thesis. We're also excited to introduce Thomas as a new master student in our group. Looking forward to the great contributionsto the AK Breder!
Illuminating new mechanistic investigation in collaboration with the Siewert Lab in Göttingen was just accepted in ChemSusChem. Nice work Sebastian, Theresa and Tao!
We are very excited to share our new work on Asymmetric Photoaerobic Ternary Selenium-Sulfur Multicatalysis. Congratulations to Tao, Sebastian, Christopher, Felix, Bernhard and Theresa! Check it out!
Today we said goodbye to our valued postdoc Tao, who was with us for the last three years. We will miss you and wish you the best of luck for your future!
Our lab has expanded by two new members this month:
Sonam is joining us from India as a Post Doc and will be working on heavy-atom hydrogen-bond-modulated ring extension reactions.
Jana has started her Master Thesis on Selenium-mediated semipinacol rearrangements.
It's good to have you here and we wish you a great and successful time in our group!
Very warm welcome to our two new group members:
Ludwig finished his Master Thesis in our group and is coming back for his PhD on the topic of photo-aerobic natural product syntheses. Welcome back!
Markus is starting his Master Thesis on photo-induced substitution reactions of selenides. Great to have you with us!
We wish the best of luck to both of you!
Congratulations to Kilian an Caro for their newest publication on the multicatalytic synthesis of 1,3-dioxan-2-ones in The European Journal of Organic Chemistry! Check it out here.
In october we had to say goodbye to two of our beloved group members, Poorva and Bernhard, who are now starting their careers in industry. We wish you a great start and success in all your future positions!
We are happy to report that our paper on Se-H bonds enabling photoredox-catalytic semipinacol rearrangement has been accepted at Angewandte Chemie International Edition. Congratulations to Sooyoung, Amit, Katerina and Daniela!
